From July 3 to September 7, 2025, the Museum Haus des Papiers is presenting the photo festival Kommunikation und Haltung. The focus is on “Understanding democracy and respectful communication”. Through the use of photo posters, art finds its way directly into the urban space: 30 renowned artists and photographers show their works in numerous public places in Berlin. Documentary and artistic approaches enter into an exciting dialog.

Powerful and challenging motifs invite an open dialog through the universal language of photography. With the photo festival, the curators Annette Berr, Katharina Grosch and Annika Lorenz want to give an impulse to appreciate the importance of constructive and respectful communication for the preservation of democracy in a polarized world. “Democracy needs art, and art needs the public - now more than ever,” appeals Berr.

The festival's central locations are the creative city quarter Holzmarkt and the Teufelsberg cultural venue. Works will also be shown at other locations:

Atrans, Bikini Berlin, Galerie KungerKiez, Gate To - Alte Münze, HdP Haus des Papiers, Jacob und Wilhelm Grimm Zentrum, KREATIVHAUS - Stadtteilzentrum Fischerinsel, LITFASS GOES URBAN ART.

Vom 3. Juli bis zum 7. September 2025 präsentiert das Museum Haus des Papiers das Fotofestival Kommunikation und Haltung. Im Fokus steht das Thema „Demokratieverständnis und respektvolle Kommunikation“. Durch die Verwendung von Fotoplakaten findet die Kunst ihren Weg direkt in den Stadtraum: 30 renommierte Künstler:innen und Fotograf:innen zeigen ihre Werke an zahlreichen öffentlichen Orten in Berlin. Dokumentarische und künstlerische Ansätze treten dabei in einen spannungsvollen Dialog.

Kraftvolle und herausfordernde Motive laden durch die universelle Sprache der Fotografie zu einem offenen Dialog ein. Mit dem Fotofestival möchten die Kuratorinnen Annette Berr, Katharina Grosch und Annika Lorenz einen Anstoss geben, die Bedeutung konstruktiver und respektvoller Kommunikation für den Erhalt der Demokratie in einer polarisierten Welt wertzuschätzen.
„Demokratie braucht Kunst, und Kunst braucht Öffentlichkeit – jetzt mehr denn je“, appelliert Berr.

Zentrale Orte des Festivals sind das kreative Stadtquartier Holzmarkt und der Kulturort Teufelsberg. Darüber hinaus werden Arbeiten an weiteren Orten gezeigt:
